Lenten Services

Our Lenten Journey begins on Wednesday, March 6th at 7:00 PM with Ash Wednesday Services at St. Paul's Mass City.

We are once again teaming up with the Ontonagon Circuit of the United Methodist Church as we present our Lenten drama series this year--Invited to the Banquet of the King which is a series of dramas about Christian worship. The story follows the allegorical path of a poor mystified peasant on the way to a banquet with the King. Unworthy and unsure of why he has been invited, he meets several citizens of the Kingdom along the way who help him understand what his journey is all about.

Who Are We?

The Northern Lights Lutheran Parish is a family of Congregations located in the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  We are associated with the Northern Great Lakes Synod and the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.

We are Neighbors

We are a community of believers consisting of people with a wide range of life and work experiences.

We are Christians

We affirm that "All are welcome in this place."

We aren’t concerned about how you’re dressed, what color your hair is or whether or not you have hair.  It doesn’t matter if you have piercings or tattoos.  It doesn’t matter if you can recite the Bible from memory or you’ve never been in a church before.  Together, we celebrate the words of the apostle Paul: "for all of you are one in Christ Jesus."

We are Lutherans

Lutherans are Christians.  We are a church that walks by faith, trusting God's promise in the gospel and knowing that we exist by and for the proclamation of this gospel word. We proclaim Jesus Christ crucified and raised from the dead for the life of the world.

We don't have all the answers

Together, we encounter the living God in Jesus and the Holy Spirit. We do this through the scripture, water, bread, and wine. God works through the gathering. We learn to love God and love our neighbors.

We Invite You!

We invite you to experience this kind of faith community and worship God with us.
